How about Jesus?

Now, comparitively, who's the evil one?
You are if you accuse Jesus of evil. And besides that He has done everything He could do.....but wicked people even despise that.

..... Yeah, those stupid homosexuals, falling in love, wanting to be with their partners forever, feeling love as deeply as any straight couple...they deserve to burn in Hell, right?

Sigma got your comeback right on the button.

God threatens us with a good whoopin' if we don't toe the line, I guess you're saying. I don't know about you, but I'm not a child. Threatening me with a whoopin' is not the right approach. Hell's bells, let me correct that: it's not the right approach with a child, either.

I find the very notion of "behave or else you're gonna get the belt!" to be, well, evil. I certainly do not and would not use that tactic with my child, and he's coming along quite nicely. It's amazing how simply behaving civilly and kindly towards a child can engender the same behavior in the child.

Now, beatin' the kid up for his transgressions? Making him suffer? I hate to even imagine what such treatment from my part, as his father who loves him, would cause him to become.

So, attemping to defend the assertion that "God is not evil" by defending Hell as an instrument for a purpose that is evil is rather self-defeating.

So your excuse is that your ominpotent god is really impotent and can't do anything but torture people forever?

Lame-o.
so what should He do program you like a computer to choose? Hell exist because God is responsible for the order of the whole universe. Indeed Hell did not come into existence until Satan and his followers rebelled. God has to punish this severely in order to curtail or prevent future rebellions...as He states in His word He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but rather the wicked repent and live....this desire is reflected in His dying on the cross....to bad rebels refuse.

What's the bottleneck, then? Why are people still going to Hell? Why can't Jesus, who is supposed to be GOD, for christ's sake, stop people from going to Hell, if he doesn't want them to? Is the problem...gasp...The Father? Is Jesus good, but the Father evil?

You really don't have much wiggle room here.

So....people only act moral, because they're afraid of punishment? No one does good for non-selfish reasons?

Let me see...God is asserted to be the "Author of Wisdom". But he's also the "Author" of this "sin ridden world" that you describe! Where's the wisdom in that? For a God that's supposed to be the "Author of Wisdom", he really fucked up in this case.

In other words cant nobody tell you what to do because you're grown....this is a prime example of the arrogant rejecting authority.

How come god makes hitler look like Ghandi?

At least Hitler only threw jews in the oven for a little bit.

Once they died, God will throw them into the fiery furnace FOREVER!

How come god is worse than hitler?

Is it God's fault that man abuses his God given wisdom for evil? Is it God's fault when you made that decision to do that which you knew at the time was wrong? No matter how you go about this...the root cause is....you...Man.

Sheesh. Let's see...God did the Hell thing for Satan and his minions "in order to curtail or prevent future rebellions." Yet God created humans, and what did they do? They rebelled.

God's not very good at what he does. "Author of Wisdom" my ass.

And all this exhibits God's "Wisdom", how? The idiot set things up this way, allegedly with the ability to know how things would turn out. But he went ahead and did it? With a pre-set "Hell directive" to prevent rebellion, that failed miserably?

If God turned in his resume to my firm, I'd put it in the "round file."

One does not believe in evil and dress it up as good in order to love and hope and grow stronger, Sugarhitman. Brutality and rampant cruelty do not make you a worthy object of respect.
