Default The name of the Christian God

Most Christians have a three-in-one god. The primary name used by Christians for their god's main name is Jesus. The evolution of the name Jesus looks something like this: Yeshua (Hebrew (Yod-Shin-Vav-Ayin)) » Iesous (Greek (pronounced "[ee]yeh-sooce")) » Jesu (Latin (pronounced "yehsoo")) » Jesus (English). (By the way, note that in the most technical sense, saying "Jesus" is saying a twice-removed translation of the name we find in the New Testament.)

The first letter in the name Yeshua (the root, so to speak, of the name Jesus) is the yod. Yod represents the "Y" sound in Hebrew. The second sound in the name Yeshua is called tse-RE, and is pronounced almost like the letter "e" in the word "net". The first sound of the second syllable of Yeshua is the "sh" sound. The fourth sound one hears in the name Yeshua is the "u" sound, as in the word "true".

Anyway, the name Jesus, which is used so commonly by Christians, should actually be Yeshua, or maybe something else. Click here for more...

Interesting, thanks. There seems (to me) to be an overwhelming amount of evidence that christianity has evolved (and mutated along the way) to the point where it is today. How do people manage to actually see (there) god in an obviously evolved bunch of myths.

Well, depending on how you look at it, god either has "many names" or 6 million (or via: amazon.co.uk).
