Lisa is legally married to JR. But in God's eyes she is married to Doyle, and has been since 1987, although the announcement wasn't made until some time after Doyle's sister, who had previously been his wife, died and went to Heaven a couple of years ago thanks to the righteous intervention of Doyle.

Does that clear it all up?

BTW, Doyle just revealed another secret in today's broadcast -- he has seen Jesus in person. Doyle is claiming that Jesus appeared to him in his bedroom, prompting him to parenthetically interject that there are other secrets about that bedroom that we will learn about shortly. Stay tuned, I guess.

Here is a link to Lisa's statement about the whole thing on her (legal) husband's website: jrstaton.com

Sounds like she could use a bit of therapy herself. Interestingly, it appears that her husband is still too afraid of Doyle's supernatural powers to say anything against him.

I think the whole bunch is ready for the rubber room.

You seem rather angry, BBB. Is everything OK?

At any rate, here's today's email update -- He (Doyle) has moved on to Revelations. Could we be reaching the last days of Doyle's personal Armegeddon?

Dear Lisa,

I pray for you, that you will consider these verses, and God will minister to you.

Revelation 21: verse 7, He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. v 8, But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murders, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Love you
Doyle

And yet, a man who is this obviously deranged still has a congregation. Religious "leaders" are leaders based on nothing but their ability to gain followers. And even someone like Doyle can qualify.

Yes, perfectly. The man is out of his fucking mind. :worried:

I think half the Christians in texas could use some therapy, IMO.

Not that I doubt you (I kinda got that impression myself) but what makes you think so?

JR has his own website, here! apparently feeling he too is called to entertain the invisible cloud being. This is the only reference I can find from him regarding the Prophet Doyle:

Quote:
In August 1985 we ( Lisa, Travis, Amy, myself ) visited Water of Life Church in Plano, Texas. There was an obvious difference about this ministry compared to others we had been associated with the previous ten years. The pastor, Doyle Davidson, read and taught from the Bible. Very straight-forward. No frills. No rousing words to get people enthused. Very different indeed. Our lives were being affected by what this man read from the Bible. The difference was that he was led by the Holy Spirit to minister what God wanted to minister to us.

Prior to visiting Water of Life we attended Church on the Rock in Rockwall, Texas and pastored by Larry Lea for five years. Previous to that we attended Beverly Hills Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas and pastored by Howard Conatser for about five years. At these churches, these men and others talked of the power of God, including miracles which occurred in people's lives. The problem was this power did not work in our lives. We had no revelation of the Gospel and did not know that a person can minister power and it not be God ( Read Matthew 7 ).

The ten years spent at the two churches listed above did not benefit my family at all. If the apostle/prophet ministry had been in operation, the Gospel would have been preached and the power of God would have manifested to set people at safety and make them sound. This is now occurring in our lives on a daily basis.
I'd like to feel some empathy for this goober, but he makes it hard. They've even taken down Lisa's statement claiming Doyle is speaking from "a spirit of witchcraft/divination."

This creepshow is looking like it is straying into an area where the police may need to intervene. Doyle's threats are getting weirder and more explicit. Reading his correspondence to this unfortunate woman, and his insane jealous raving, does truly put me in mind of some patriarchal Old Testament goatherder masking his pathetic horniness with scriptural curses and jeremiads. To wit:

Dear Lisa,

I ask God this morning to forgive me of any rancor, animosity, and hostility, toward you. I know he did.

I know I have been your husband since 1987. I am telling you to get up and walk away from that group of unbelievers, bound with witchcraft.

Do not be afraid to leave, I am with you and I will care for you. I am not afraid of any or all of them. Come to the house and be free of them.

I love you,
Doyle E
But from this point on, we're in the Twilight Zone:

Dear Lisa,

I sent this email to JR, and I am forwarding it to you with these instructions. Don't even let JR lay his hands on your body. I have power over your body. (I Corinthians 7)

Love you,
Doyle

JR,

Don 't you lay your hands on Lisa, you child of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness.Do not even touch my wife's flesh.

Doyle Davidson
emphasis mine

But this is the point where I would say it is no longer funny. This guy is about to do harm to someone, and there is no excuse for the community to sit back and pretend to respect his beliefs:

Dear Lisa,

I told you God would deliver you into my hands shortly. Well he did just that. He knew what it would take to make you very hostile. Let me tell you something, you are my wife and JR will soon die, and you will die before I do. Now your threats do not bother me one bit. You do remember how you said certain people would die that are with me. Then darling you said I would die. You will come into my house and live with me in peace. I will deliver you from the Jezebel. Well I am busy. I will see you next time.

Love you
Doyle

P. S. You are no match for me, but you are cute when you are stirred up.
emphasis mine, again -- all quotes from here: I wish this weren't real

Of course, any true fundamentalist Christians out there who would care to lay out for us poor unwashed infidels as to how we should differentiate between a Doyle Davidson and a D. James Kennedy -- well, I for one would really like to know.

Well lets see does D. James Kennedy have anything like this on his website?

If you are so blinded that you can't see the difference between the two then there isn't anything anyone could say.

Why post a non-response? How much do you know about Kennedy? Are you a fan of his?

To answer your question -- no I haven't seen anything quite like this on Kennedy's website, but there is a difference .. Kennedy is not insane; but, between the two -- I would aver that Davidson is the more sincere. Kennedy is nothing more than a dishonest, muckraking, religious huckster.
