In Proverbs King Solomon talks about learning from ants. The Talmud talks about a person getting out of bed like a lion for the service of God in the morning.
And of course the Tanakh has many references to other animals, though not domesticated pets, i.e. dogs and cats. Dogs are shown as street or outdoor animals but not house pets. Are domesticated cats found in any other literature, i.e. Christian literature, unrelated to ancient Egypt? Of course there is the mystery of the kangaroo, the wallaby, etc. and their presence ONLY in Australia and nowhere else on earth. |
