Hi Rick. I've long had a question about the trinity, perceiving it as a fault, and maybe you can help me out.

Did god sacrifice himself to himself to appease his own anger at his own creation, or did god sacrifice his only son to himself to appease his own anger at his own creation?

Do you honestly expect me to be able to answer your question while you are still typing out your response to my posting?

Now I said jesus from within the NT, and the NT itself is my 'physical' evidence. This character can't possibly have existed in real life outside of this book because of the gospels and other books' obvious mistakes and contradictions in his words and actions. Since a contradiction can not exist in real life, there can't really be many completely different versions to truly explain correctly the exact same supposed event, idea, or person. I didn't say no one could have existed that was like this character jesus or did some that was written that this character does, but the NT's version of a character can't possibly be about the exact same man.

Also, Jesus was not an "average 'want to be' wiseman" as you claim. What he says in the Bible is, in my opinion, full of wisdom and many things can be learnt from his words.
As you have said, IYO, but I do not like talking so much from my own opinion, I like to use facts talking about facts. I will not go into that much detail though right here since it does not as much apply with the OP. I will give christians themselves and christian historical record as only part of my evidence. The real point of wisdom is of course anyone would gleefully do what was absolutely wise, but jesus says many many things that either are impossible, dangerous, useless, contradicting his other messages, or stupid if put into practice. And as I've already mentioned, christians and their history show this easily. If jesus was truly so wise, he would have been able to clearly stop all the bloodshed, abuse, and destruction done in his name and every claimed christian would be easily like him, instead of so many half-heartly trying. Jesus claims himself as the 'good shepherd', but it is not exactly that good to not have that much control over your flock to allow them to go on such a rampage.

quote sharon 45
"The trinity is a severely faulty concept that is in reality an impossibility even without comparison to the NT's limitations"

I highly doubt that you are qualified to make such a statement.
What are the faults of the Trinity?
How is it impossible?
What do you mean by comparing to the NT's limitations?
Again I only need to give the NT as evidence of this, the writers of the gospels stumble many times on this idea of what jesus really is and each has their own personal ideas. But not only do they not hold up to scrutiny between the gospels themselves and with the other books on a whole, they can not even stay consistent within their personal book either. One to really look through is the gospel of john, since he is the most intent on trying to hint at jesus being god or part of a 'trinity'. This writing makes so much of a fool of itself, (unintentionally I would have to assume), and if john were to ever really have jesus outright admit himself as being god, it would be truly laughable.

One other reason for it to be impossible is because this idea is taken from outside of the NT because there is no such properly explained definition contain within the book. This idea was not more completely accepted until after the first century council forced it to be, trying to gain control and order over the belief. So since is still remains an outside sourced idea, it is not completely supported by the NT and just about every christian has their own personal version of what makes up the trinity concept and nothing such as that hold up to being all things to all people and still remain constantly the same and exactly correctly intact as 'intended'. Just as practically every one of jesus' parables has a whole series of different explanations from outside of the NT by christians, they surely all can't apply and be considered the correct message, (if really any of them do).

If the Holy Ghost impregnated Mary with Jesus, and if Jesus and the HG are of the same substance, then
Jesus impregnated his own mother with himself, a most truly bizarre form of incest.
