So I guess you’re saying that it wasn’t atheism that mass murdered 62 million in the USSR; but rather that it was atheists and their regime that massed murdered 62 million people in the USSR.
Ah, yeah, those atheists didn't kill people in the name of atheism. However, plenty of Protestants, Catholics, and Muslims have killed in the name of their god. Sorry you still don't get it.

Yeah, that’s the ticket—atheism doesn’t mass murder people, atheists and their regimes mass murder people!
AH! YOU'RE RIGHT! HOW SILLY OF ME! Naturally an atheist killing or oppressing in the name of government and nationalistic security is EXACTLY THE SAME as killing or opressing the name of atheism!! Or a Catholic burning a heretic at the stake for blasphemy or heresey, or a Muslim flying a plane into a building in the name of Allah!

That y’all would spend the inordinate amount of time that you have arguing that Hitler and his morally unrestrained regime was somehow “Christian? rather than what he/it obviously was speaks volumes.

Time flies LJ—spend it wisely.
No, my good Rogernme! YOU are the one that claimed there were "Atheist Principles." I merely asked you, or anyone, to list them. YOU have not. But this latest post is merely an unsuccessful attempt to duck/avoid a reasoned reply to my request.

That YOU would claim that Hitler and the Nazi regime were atheists is what promoted the discussion. YOU initiated the charge and got YOUR hat handed to YOU. That YOU are now attempting to deflect that reality toward others is a rather tiresome ploy of a great many of the religionists who post in these forums. The only thing this discussion speaks volumes about is how unprepared YOU were to discuss the issues, YOU surfaced, with any degree of fully informed historical knowledge/acumen. (Yes, time flies when YOU spend it attempting to communicate with the supernatural. Some folks have actually learned how to use their avalaible time with greater rationality.)

Okay, if Rogernme can't figure out that there isn't a symmetrical argument here, I'll create one for him. Atheism isn't the polar opposite of xtianity, it is the polar opposite of all theism.

With this new information:

How many innocent people have been killed in the name of theism? Not just this current strain of brain dead neo-protestantism, all theism.

There is your fucking symmetry, choke on it.

Rogernme,

The absence God as a moral standard doesn't automatically mean that everything is just permitted. It only shifts the definition of the moral standard to humanity and society.

My dear Buffman, that's called sarcasm. If your reading comprehension skills were up to par with my writing skills you'd have laughed. Disappointed, Albert Cipriani the Traditional Catholic

I agree with you. My reading skills are not capable of recognizing when you are being sarcastic and when you are being driven by your own personal "ANTI-CATHOLIC" demons. I guess I must not have accurately comprehended the Introductory remarks to your site...nor the purpose of your diatribes. Bad on me!

(ADDED)
Now that's sarcasm! :rolling:

Please describe the exact nature of this mass murder of 62 million people. (Did you take the time to actually read the references I provided you to correct your statistical errors.) Care to discuss the 'mass murder' of the native Americans by the Christian invaders?

The debate, if it can be called such, is interlarded with flames, derision, and namecalling. It seems to have run its course.
