When I did a Google search for "celsus jp holding" at TheologyWeb, I got this link in which Holding states that no such debate ever took place.
Celsus will have a link himself, tho.

It sure is and they sure are...

I just read that thread and followed a few links. I think JPHolding and some of his friends suffer from Loftus-OCD. What a waste of time.

Does anyone know what he was convicted of? Misuse of Logic in the First Degree? Felony Plagiarism??

Ok, then why doesn't your friend Holding adopt an air of weary patient courtesy? Maybe because he doesn't have a killer argument?

If so, why don't we see cogent, courteous refutations here when his name is mentioned? This thread, like all the others featuring his name, consists of personal attacks on him. It doesn't breed confidence, in me anyway.

All the best,

Roger Pearse
Why then do JP Holding's rantings breed confidence in you, since they are permeated with personal attacks?

I love the phrase in one of the links above "holding pattern"!

Hm... Being several years ago that I may have misremembered the exact details of my interactions at Tweb... I only remember him and Socrates, who was an unusually vicious character there (and probably an AiG apologist, I can't remember whom but someone pretty much identified him though he never acknowledged it). But anyway I found this, so maybe I was conflating the two as was typical of debates there. I don't know if there's other crossing of swords, I can't remember my login details there and have no desire to register again to search. I do remember Holding stopped with the maliciousness because I took the sparring as a game instead of reacting which would have made him look bad. I also remember insulting Socrates to the same degree he would get away with (but never any of the nice Christians there), hence my forum title "Diabolical Mimic".

Thanks for the clarification, Celsus. Frankly after 6 years I'd have trouble even remembering logging into the board, never mind what was said.
