Default ESA Mars Express Finds Water Ice

ESA scientists and the Mars Express announced finding evidence of water ice at the Martian South Pole on their website.

Quote:
Recent space missions then suggested that the southern ice cap, existing all year round, could be a mixture of water and carbon dioxide. But only with Mars Express have scientists been able to confirm directly for the first time that water ice is present at the south pole too.
Coupled with the Rover's findings, the plot thickens. . .

Sure would be awesome to have a mission that found evidence of life on Mars (or anywhere for that matter) in my lifetime.

JM: Big deal a little ice water. How's that compare to this ice pack?

LOL!
from the photo caption...

The Earth may have been a giant snowball 600 to 800 years ago.
Someone forgot a "million". Methinks the people living from 1200-1400 CE would have said something if they were living on a giant snowball...

I caught that little faux pas in the caption, too. Might have to check back to see if it gets corrected . . .
