how exactly where the targeted audience going to understnad the evolving nature of jesus in all 4 gospel accounts?

Some "evolution of understanding" I gather is a euphemism for "textual difficulties".

It's "reassuring" to see our apologist reassuring him/herself with such thoughtful analysis.

I like the assumption that the gospel can be traced "from Jerusalem ... to Rome and beyond", especially when I see evidence that the earliest gospel was written in Rome.

I appreciated the ascription of gospel differences to "transmission changes" and then the explanation of those so-called changes as being motivated by the requirements of "the target audience".

What the citation has to do with the christian testament, however, remains obscure.
