But not all Israelites were Jews. Jews represent the descendants of the kingdom of Judah.

If I don't believe the stories then they are just quaint fairy tales.
Hah your disbelief doesn't make something a fairy tale. And again the fact that the remains of these giants have been found and are mentioned in ancient texts (like the Egyptian texts and others) are stacked against your disbelief.

It does, from my point of view, and thus your argument is irrelevant, from my point of view, which is what I meant. Plus your belief doesn't make them true either.

Not at all. I have seen giants, they are humans who grow larger than the rests, not half-demons. Plus, "the remains of these giants have been found" is a fallacy.

In other words, your god was incompetent and did not take care of the problem - or rather, there is a reason he did not want to take care of the problem, since he allowed it to happen. Actually, that's the best excuse - no matter what happens, YHVH wants it to happen, so you can be comforted, and YHVH takes no blame for causing bad things (such as genocide).

Speaking of genocide, killing humans (as well as women and children) has always been considered bad by compassionate humans. It's simple. Anyone believing differently has a lack of morals. If you want to try to pretty it up by saying it was the divine will of some supernatural being, well, you have a lot of evidence to provide to prove that, and then you have to argue that it is a good/moral position to follow the whim of such a creature. So far, neither has happened.

However, I am even more interested in the archaeological evidence for such "giants", and even more so in discovering how we are able to tell that they are the descendants of the angels (I'm taking the middle ground between the original "gods" meaning and the later "demons" meaning given to the myth). Is there something unusual in the DNA? Are their bones formed of alien minerals? Since we know that there have always been people who are larger than average size (hence, "average"), simply being large is not the same as being a supernatural "giant". What evidence is there that the older inhabitants of the mid-east were larger than normal? Heck, add in: what evidence is there that there were even any wars and genocides?

Sorry, quoting from a book of religious propaganda does not make it history. If you want anyone to take you seriously, other than a believer, you need to provide evidence to back it up, not just say that "giants had been discovered" (to paraphrase, I did not go back to see your exact quote).

If we wanted, we could argue that the ancient Israelites (not Jews, that's a later term, and maybe proto-Israelites is better) were simply confused about the wars between the Aesir and the Giants (the Fire and Frost variety), and mistakenly thought that this fact involved their local sky deity. As long as we're using mythology to prove mythology, why not involve the rest of the world's mythology? To be fair, the norse mythology was recorded later and may have developed later, but I'm sure if we searched the Sumerian mythos and the Vedas, we could find something similar. Hesiods Ages and the Titans are a possible source as well.

None regarding both.

That problem arose because of the decisions of FREE-WILLED BEINGS to do that which is unnatural.

Again you are arguing from an historical point. I am talking about this accusation that the God of the Bible condones genocide against "innocent nations" which in light of the stories of the Israelites wars against the Nephilim (whether you believe or not) this accusation is flawed.

Assuming all this crazy stuff happened, I'm just curious, why was this mingling forbidden?

What was their crime?

There are giants playing for the NBA, are they descendents of the Nephilim?

Why would God create giants in the first place, if he didn't like them?

I am not aware that I accused the Jews of genocide, but if they did commit genocide, I would not be surprised.

Regardless of my position, any other skeptic would be within his rights to ask you to produce evidence that the book of Deuteronomy is historically accurate. You must not be aware that a large part of the Old Testament cannot be verified historically and archaeologically.

Why should anyone believe that the book of Deuteronomy is not a fairy tale? All that you have are copies of copies of copies of the originals.
They supposedly according to the bible tried to wipe the Canaanites off the face of the Earth, and just failed. Did it happen? There's certainly no historical support. Was it attempted genocide, bearing in mind no one has ever achieved genocide, hell yes.

Nephilim are More Jewish mysticism than Christian.

Could you describe what an "innocent nation" would look like to you, sugarhitman? What would make a nation guilty?
