Adam is a mythological figure in the creation myth of one bronze age middle eastern tribe, the Israelites. The story itself was taken from earlier cultures and modified to fit their own world view, and create a cultural heritage.

This is the Ahmadiyya view, a peaceful faith in Islam; and it is provable from the verses in Quran. The Muslims in general, if they are not ignorant, have to believe in Quran- the number one source and revealed book of Islam. Thanks |

''Tales involving Enki and Ninhursag in Sumerian mythology, and Adapa in later mythology, has been put forward by several scholars as a likely candidate for large parts of the story of Adam and Eve, most controversially by David Rohl in 2005, but also by established scholars of Sumeria such as Kramer, in 1981. In the Sumerian myth, Ninhursag creates a beautiful garden full of lush vegetation and fruit trees called Edinu, a name remarkably similar to Eden. Ninhursag creates the garden for herself, but fearing for its protection while she is away, charges Enki, her lover, with the responsibility to control wild animals, and tend the garden.'' |

Hi
Since Adam is not the first human born; rather he is the first person who had direct Revelation from GodAllahYHWH so he has not necessarily belong to any particular region in the world. He could be a Mesopotanium or Siri Lankan or African origin etc. Thanks |

Was Eve then really created from Adam's rib or is that also a metaphor? I agree that enlightenment would be a good allegory for eating from the tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden.

Adam exists in all extent copies of the OT record, so, (per Ben, Amal, etc...), prima facie, he must have existed.
Right guys? |

You are right, as a woman naturally feels satisfied and secure in the company of Adame, so Eve has been metaphorically depicted born out of a rib of Adam. Quran the first and foremost source of guidance of Muslims does not however mention of Eve having been born from the Adam's rib, so it has to be taken as a metaphor, as a principle. Thanks |

The little I read on them seems more enlightened than my impression of general (main-stream ) Islam (hopefully that does not overly offend anyone). |
