Wink A little something for my theist and freethinker friends here on the Sec-Web.

A little something for my theist and freethinker friends here on the Sec-Web. I'd like to thank Rainbow Walking for getting me started on this a couple of years ago, and of course I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Beede, Brian Trafford and Layman. Come to think of it, they did get a nod in the story. Thanks for the inspiration guys. Bon Appetit. Theist Tale

David! Tis a strange land you originate from. A place where men smoke chains, thump bibles and roll holies. Yet all that smoking, thumping and rolling has not, in the least, dampened your writing skills. I look forward to the sequel. You can't leave poor Rebecca in such a dreadful state of mind. Remember the resurrection David.

Well RW you gave me the inspiration when you were on the God squad here way back when. Jezee, even DM was only a mod then.

I'm working on something new right now, and I've just the role for you, padre.

As for poor Rebecca, well that's what happens when you hang out with trouble. Just kidding. : I might do a sequel, who knows.

Was that "A" for effort, or affront?

If the former, thank you, if the later, well I do understand.

Perhaps, or perhaps I've again managed to say something that our religious friends here don't like to discuss, how easy it is to misuse the God/religion biz for personal or group gain, and how pointless the whole God concept is in this day and age anyway. All we can do is keep pointing out the obvious, that their God has no factual basis in reality, and continue to help those that want to escape that mental trap and position of servitude to their religious masters, to do so. There are none so blind as those who refuse to see the real reality.

But I will say this what a sweet scam the God/religion biz is. They recruit children who are too young to give informed consent to being brainwashed into believing an incredible fairy tale. And they attract adults who have been seduced with the ultimate reward/punishment sales pitch, believe in God and our particular cult, (Christian, Jew, Muslim or other) and go to heaven! Don't and go to hell. What a sales pitch! And look at the money they rake in! I'll bet that the religion biz (All known denominations) dwarfs any other biz there is. Hell it probably dwarfs a few of the next biggest worldwide businesses combined!

Perhaps we have better things to do with our time than discuss your story? I did actually read through the entire story, but I don't have anything to say about it--much less anything to discuss.

As for the "real reality", that's pretty rich.

How do you deal with theists who don't believe in heaven/hell/afterlife? Who do you think my religious master is? Why would you think that a supernatural entity would have a factual basis?

I should have posted "E" for effort. But I was trying to be nice. Would have meant "excellent".

However when I went to school, "E" meant failing--------and I thought you might take it that way. And did not want that.

Why I switched to "A"-------even thought it really doesn't fit.

I thought it was well written.

Yes tibac I didn't think many a theists here would like to discuss A "Theist Tale," its all so tawdry after all isn't it? Still you'd think 258 views so far would elicit more than seven replies. Humm.

Reality? I can see my reality every day. It's called the real world and everything in it. (We call it metaphysical naturalism around here.) As for who I think your religious master is, well don't keep me in suspense just blurt it out for us. Bob? God? Baal? Allah? Zeus? (Or insert your favorite God here..)There are so many Gods to chose from these days.

As for theists who don't believe in heaven and hell, I'm not sure just what brand of theists they are. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to your particular belief in the God/religion biz? You're not another one of those guys that has his own personal religion are you?

Why would anyone have me believing "that a supernatural entity would have a factual basis."? Anyone who has read SOB. knows that I have no belief in God, period. I'm into reality, not fairy tales that tend to divide humanity into warring camps all itching for Armageddon with each other.

Nice chatting with you tibac.
