Does anyone know of any skeptic organization that has acted, or presently is acting, as "The Devil's Advocate" regarding the Catholic Church's investigation of two miracles by individuals who are being considered for Sainthood?
In recent decades, the Catholic Church began "fast tracking" the process of Sainthood. It is interesting to note that this began to occur about the same time the Catholic Church did away with its "Official" Devil's Advocate organization. ed45 |

Are you kidding? Then they'd have to look for saints with truly saintly behaviour, and for-real miracles.
Although if they'd drop the miracle requirement, and make it so that truly world-class exemplars of any religion or none could become Catholic saints, I for one would be pleased and honored to help them select such people, by acting as the devil's advocate. Recognizing and venerating such people as Gandhi would be most excellent. |
