Harrummph! Such de-bough-ery! This whole idea leaves me Weeping, Willow. If you get caught at this, a Large Fothergilla may punish you with some Ironwood. And you can bet your Ash a Chokecherry abandons a Chinese Date with nothing left but some Korean Fir.
However, if you must leaves the roots of rectitude and go Pining after some Pussy Willow (since I know you will Sycamore in knot holes) take some advice. Avoid the Corkscrew Willow, the Pin Oak and the Sour Gum, all for obvious reasons. In addition to the Thornless Honeylocust, consider branching out to the Horsesugar, Portugal Laurel or a nice Korean Sweetheart. A Sweetgum is always pleasant as is the Downy Serviceberry (a true whorl, though.) And, if you're really short, please do make friends with a Loquat. I feel like a real Birch for making these suggestions, but if you're going to mess with that Devilwood anyway, be sure to use a Rubber Tree first. |
