Hey, I agree with that. I don’t see Genesis as anything more than mythology. But our Catholic friends—that’s a different matter. They so need a basis for their doctrine of Original Sin that they cling to monogenism even if they’re evolutionists.

your instincts serve you well: it's bogus.

it's just a backdoor way to sneak in a definition of life that requires immense complexity from the get-go. as long as we're talking about the probability of spontaneous complexity, i trust everyone who needs it has this link?

Angry

I have neither the time nor the inclination to enter this debate but I want to say keep up the good fight to the guys involved! Post 158 and 160 made me want to put my fist through the screen in frustration. 'The recent studies on.......' aarrgggg what a fucking pseud Buffalo is.

Speaking of frustrating shite, check out the latet from Jorge at TW. Does the thought of Jorgey, the intellectual equivalent of a pubic louse, having the arrogance to critique Mayr amuse anyone else?

http://www.theologyweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28307

Edited to add:

I see this JimO joker has chimed in with more nonsense along the lines of Buffalo about 'new' theories in geology on timescales. I seriously can't take any more of this.

These are Catholics? Don't they know that the Pope announced that evolution is not inconsistent with Biblical teachings? Really.

I have a hard time believing that these are Catholics. Most creationists I've encountered would tend to believe that those Mary-worshippers are all Hellbound, and that the Pope is probably using some sort of mind-control ray to make Mel Gibson make shitty, shitty movies.

Heathen Dawn & Oolon, great job taking Edwin Taraba to the mat. I wish I'd found him.

Damn, Oolon, you got the Papal announcement out too. Nice.

Thumbs up Catholic converts

Most of them are Catholics there, but many are converts to Catholicism from Protestant fundamentalism. That explains the acceptance of young-earthism among many of them. I appreciate the scientific input there from some of the Infidels here. Yeah, many fundamentalists/evangelicals do think Catholics "worship" Mary, they forget the theological distinction we make between latria (worship reserved for God) and dulia (honor made to Mary and the saints). And Mel Gibson's The Passion was great art, even if you don't accept the theology. He's got a lot of money now, don't worry he'll make more of those films.

Yes, as James White so keenly insists. He even got his caricaturist to depict a Catholic priest presiding over the worship of the golden calf. Sick Prodestant sniping, devoid of any Christlikeness.

Nah, he's not. He said he was going to quit, but I think he just opened a new thread.
