Ted:

If you read Caesar's Messiah you will have the foundation for this whole line of analysis. This is not just author's bias but the plain truth. In discussing my intrepretation of the TF and 'puzzles' like the '153 fish' we are in a second tier of analysis that is completely dependent upon the first. I promise you that if you go to the trouble of reading the book, all of this will make more sense.

By the way, Doudna and I correspond with one another from time to time and I am familiar with his dating approach to the Scrolls. Though I am not convinced by his thesis I am saying it is incorrect, only that the C14 tests did not preclude a first century origin for the Scrolls that were sampled.

Oops, I am not saying it is incorrect.

I just don't see it in the translation I used, but maybe I used a bad translation. The whole puzzle of the 153 fish depends on the numbers used making sense, so that would seem to be a critical piece for determining the likelihood of it being what you claim. In any case, thanks.

Maybe if my curiousity is piqued enough . I'm curious though, IYO are the TF and the few following paragraphs the main passage relating to Christianity? If so, and Josephus knew this--he was 'in' on the whole conspiracy--as both a historian and a Jewish man doesn't it seem likely that Josephus would have alluded to it throughout all of his works since it was a major peg in the Roman position toward the Jews? Pehaps you address this in your book?

To all:

It has been brought to my attention that I have been officially outed by Wikipedia. So much for my attempt at scholarship.
