In my opinion you should be glad about this. We all know that ID has neither content nor relevance. The _only_ thing they have is public attention given to them by sub-par journalism. IMO ID should be completely ignored. There was no "controversy about evolution" before the creationists and now the IDists started making headlines, thus creating a controversy.
