What I dont get is, why would he be willing to say outright that the birth narratives were inventions and then bend backwards to date these inventions and bend backwards to ascribe the genealogies and the virgin birth fantasies to the same authors yet the two ideas are openly conflicting?
Now that you mention it, he doesnt seem to be much of a redaction critic. Just form criticism and some literary and historical criticism. Hmm...... |
