I have actually made a friend who works for apple doing that stuff, so I just call him now when I have a problem (which really means asking how to install new cards and such), but he's out of town and I can't get ahold of him for a while.
I'm emailing my Mac guru buddy in FL right now. He said to boot from CD also and hold C key. He also had me zap the PRAM. Neat trick, but it didn't work. I think my baby is FUBARed. :frown:

They opened a Mac store recently in the mall on my side of town. If all else fails, I'll take it there. *grins hopefully*

Thanks for the suggestion!!

Broken record here.

If the poster is politically correct, no problem.

If the poster is not politically correct, big problem.

Sometimes...as examples like Joan of Arc show...but often as not women who find a comfortable niche are often the greatest supporters of the status quo.

I recall the scene in Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale wherein the handmaids (oppressed women stripped of status and freedom in a dystopic religious-right-run future) go to a huge prayer meeting in a stadium. As part of the events a man is brought out and identified as a rapist. The mob of handmaids then literally tear him into very small pieces. But, of course, he was not a rapist at all, just a political dissident.

We have (had) stripes too, but not the white belt. Stripes started with yellow belt. And green is like 2 steps (not counting stripes) below brown -- it's getting waaaay up there in the kyu ranks.
