Take it from someone who graduated college as a professional merchant marine officer, you do not understand how the ancient sailors navigated. Charts were far more important than you try to make them seem. The outline of the coast was absolutely critical. The sinking of a coastal island, regardless of whether there was a major port there or not would have been extremely important to any ships sailing in that part of the Med. It would NOT have gone unmentioned.

Lee, do you have to keep flailing around like this? Now you are making broad assumptions about maritime navigation.
Two people who have nautical experience or nautical knowledge have entered this thread, and given you their assessments. I'm sorry Lee, that they don't agree with your assessment, but they are the ones with the knowledge you don't have. Lee you still have to prove that Tyre sunk. I have given you some 15 links to lebanese history and geography none of which make any mention of Tyre going under. You still have not provided one link that supports your position. |

You expect other people to put forth effort in this debate, yet you put forth none at all. Why should anyone tolerate such a lop-sided arrangement as that? Everyone else has to demonstrate their points, yet you don't even lift a finger? You've been asked multiple times to support your theories - yet you don't. All you offer is more speculation that quickly gets de-constructed for its mistakes. You have read none of the sources I've given you, or that noah has given you. Based upon the above, the only possible conclusion is that you're not even interested in this topic; you couldn't care less about it. Your only interest is in how much entertainment you can get out if it, by making skeptics work to knock down your little speculative theories. What my quotes do is demonstrate that I'm not going to play your game of run-and-fetch. No one else is either. Nobody's taking you seriously until you start taking this discussion seriously. Hell, I haven't taken you seriously since we semi-officially closed the thread to serious responses last week. :rolling: Quote:

Can anyone tell me which part of this harbor is being pictured here, by using a map? Google satellite maps may be used, this is an open book test... Regards, Lee |

Given that, why should anyone bother to actually respond to your meaningless posts? I'm really curious about that. Do you honestly, honestly think that any of your last hundred posts on this subject was at all relevant? |

Yeah Lee. What exactly is your point here?
I see it is not proof that Tyre went underwater, sank beneath the waves without anybody noticing. It's not an historical map. It's not an ancient mariner's log or map of Tyre and the surrounding area. It's not a satellite photo. It's not a work of history that records the sinking of Tyre. It certainly isn't an article from an archaeological book or publication proving that Tyre sank. It's not a piece of underwater photography which shows the ruins of Tyre strewn along the bottom. It isn't some groundbreaking news that the Phoenician ruins beneath Tyre are not Phoenician at all. So what is it Lee? |

Another game of making skeptics jump through hoops and do the run-and-fetch? While you do absolutely zero to support your position? Been there, done that. No thanks. |
