JP Holding has never explained how he got that job as prison librarian. WAS HE IN PRISON? IS THAT HOW HE GOT THAT JOB? WHAT WAS HE IN PRISON FOR?

I don't think that JP Holding has many fans here, but let's not go overboard. The staff of prisons are civil servants, and usually have to have a clean criminal record. There is no indication that JP Holding has a criminal record.

And yet even his opponents concede that he is well-read and knowledgeable.

Seriously, people with better credentials have made worse arguments than he, and people with no credentials at all have regularly made valid observations and valuable contributions.

Holding is silly and dishonest, but that's hardly a result of him never having studied biblical criticism at university.

I remain unconvinced by the anti-mythicist arguments. After 2,000 years Christians still can't provide convincing evidence for a historical Jesus. But thanks for advertising the mythicist perspective, although poorly presented. This book may best be utilized as inadvertently demonstrating that the anti-mythicist cult still have a lot to learn about the history of disbelief and mythology...."

The lack of an index says nothing about intelligence. Your grasping at straws trying to insult the man, and it's not clear why it even matters.

Holding's method is to insult his opponents and make fun of their names. This is a tactic to get their dander up and get everyone in a fighting mood, at which point a rational evaluation of the evidence tends to go out the door.

Which serves his purpose.
