Hi spamandham. It's either TRUE, or it's not. In the gospels is a parable of the prodigal son. A young son leaves his father's house to live a life of sin and sexual abandon. But he repents, and returns and his father, seeing him goes out to him and gives him the highest honor, and a new robe, "the best one" and a banquet. Elsewhere in the Bible the father's banquet for the son is the wedding feast, a reference to the "kingdom of the heavens." Is there a connection? Is this suggesting the prodigal son becomes the Messiah?

In the OT we find the messiah becoming king, illustrated by high-priest Joshua who is called "Sprout" a reference to a eunuch, one without branches. His clothes are befouled (Zech 3:1-5). He gets new "robes of state" just like the prodigal son.

I wonder if there's a connection here?

You know, at one point I requested that God heat up Gehenna even hotter than it is. It just irritated me that the sinners wouldn't burst into flames until they hit the surface. If Gehenna were a lot hotter, they would burst into flames as soon as they were over the lake, long before they reached surface. I'm not sure if my request was was answered or not.

Lots of people walk away from God but they never see that speeding bus for some reason. :wave:

No. First God sends someone to tell them about these things to see who will believe based simply on God's written word. Then God shows up in person later at which point reality will be understood by everyone. That's the beauty of JUDGMENT DAY. The wicked come back, see God, see everything for what it really is, then they are put to death forever seeing beforehand what they will be missing out on -- the opportunity of a lifetime!

It will the the ANGUISH of knowing that everybody else was smart enough to figure out the right them except them... They die feeling they are the ultimate LOSER; which they will be.

How do we know that the Bible is God's written word rather than simply the work of men?

Once we're gone, it won't matter what we "missed out on". If a god brings me back just to say "i told you so", and then extinguishes me again, it will be no different from my perspective than if the first death is the final death. I'll no longer exist to care.

You don't understand. You were already a victim of violence. Satan killed you in your mother's womb. You were aborted before you had a chance for life.

In order to save you, there has to be some pain and suffering and eventual death. That is, to SAVE Adam's children, they have to be born even though they will die and will have to come back after all of them are born over time, short of 6000 years. But rather than have not not go through this temporary pain and death, including the pain of your loved ones dying, you never would have been born. God decided you MUST BE BORN so you had a fighting chance for life Satan stole from you. You're blaming God for that incidental pain in your life that is the basis for you to be able to live.

Now some people "complain" and whimper because God isn't in the kitchen washing their dishes for them while they sit around and watch TV and order more microwave popcorn. Others, are extremely grateful for this wonderful second chance.

I, being the Christ, for my part, have requested that the lake of fire be heated up 100 times hotter so these poor, miserable people can be put out of their misery even sooner when I throw them to their "second death."
