Instead of acting like an irate curmudgeon, why don't you also ask the question on ex-muslims boards -- for example, Faith Freedom. That board has been infested by right-winging nuts and christian fundies playing on ex-muslims antagonism toward Islam to bash it to their hearts content, but ex-muslims don't fall for that and are usually mostly atheists. If you honestly want to know the stories of ex-muslims, do go there and post the same question. IIDB is a superb place, but you wouldn't find many ex-muslims here.

It's not polite to badger a member into telling their story if they aren't particularly keen on it. Mughal has remained very polite and respectful throughout this thread as he always is.

I would have pm'd him personally and asked him if he wouldn't mind telling me his story. If he didn't want to I'd respect that. I wouldn't fire into him on a public board and demand to hear it then tell him he's on ignore publically because I couldn't respect his decision. I'm sure the guy has his reasons he doesn't owe anyone an explanation.

Since no ex-muslims have actually offered to take up the request in the OP, and since this thread has degenerated into bickering, I'm locking this thread.

If any ex-muslims do wish to post their testimony then they can feel free to start a new thread with it.
