Just go to the piazza in front of St Peter's on the right day and look up to the right. Standing at his balcony you can see the pope. There are enough recent photos and videos of Ratzinger and enough people who met him while he was Woytyla's right hand man for an "of course". It's undisputably evident that there's a Ratty pope. You don't have any way to show your ontological commitment to a god has an epistemology. You can't even say "of course" meaningfully regarding your god.

What does this have to do with whether Jesus claimed to be the messiah.
Indirectly it supports the argument, because a messiah was meant only for the Jews.
That's not true, as any honest Jew will tell you.
Ah, the ole' no true Scotsman argument ...

Really, you don't believe that bit of brainless circularity, Joan? You're joking again, of course.

Dogged anti-catholic nuttery. Why else would one dig their heels in and refuse to acknowledge that the leader of catholic christianity is called the pope? Anti-catholic, anti-Semitic, anti-homosexual, anti-reason, willfully misrepresentative, belligerently non-communicative, ever-ready to proselytize. Why?

We don't know that God exists, but we know who his followers are. Is that a miracle?

I feel like a doctor whose patient cannot help acting out, but every now and then the patient can pull it together enough to seem lucid for a moment.

We don't know that Klingons exist either, but people still speak the language.

When one gets close to communicating, there comes the gutless response.

We don't know that father christmas exists, but children still hope he comes.
