He is just substituting a euphemism for evil in order to soften the meaning of the original scripture. Christians don't seem to think the problem of evil is strong enough to reject their faith, so I'm not really sure why he has a problem saying that God created evil.

If you were a believer for your whole life, then you would have started out as a believer, right?

I wasn't born a believer. I was born without any position on the matter.

God doesn't expect any human to be perfect and meet His standards.
Then he shouldn't have punished Adam and Eve for not being perfect.

So you redefine the slaughter of children as "calamity", something which isn't wrong somehow?

He can still be perfectly good.
In that case, I redefine any sin that I might have committed as "calamity", and I am also perfectly good.

It makes as much sense as picking the lucky god in a cosmic game of three-card monte.

This made me think of an old Simpsons episode. In the episode, Homer purposly gets super-fat so he can work at home. Now, for some reason or another (it's been a while ), Homer needed to leave the house during his working hours. Thing is, the only thing he did at the computer at his house is it one key every so often. So our ingenious hero used one of those little bird-thingies that drink from the water to hit the key for him.

After a while, Homer returns to find the bird somehow fell over, and the power plant is about to blow. He grabs the bird and curses it, and we all have a good laugh. Why is it we have a good laugh? Because Homer is a fucking idiot for putting a toy in charge of his job. If he wanted it done right, he should have created a better replacement.

How is your god any different than Homer? (Or is Homer god )

For Gospelog2 and especially, Magus55.

Matthew 7:15
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Matthew 24:11
"Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.

Matthew 24:24
"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.

Mark 13:22
for false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show signs and wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect.

1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
