In The Old Enemy (or via: amazon.co.uk), Neil Forsyth demonstrates links between Mesopotamian and Canaanite myths and the OT. I don't recall that he addresses the flood story, but he shows how part of the OT reflect the fundamental Canaanite combat myth of Baal vs. Yamm (the sea). Not easy going, but well worth a read.
