Just because parts of the bible are historically accurate doesn't mean you can take all of it as literally true.

Did you toddle along to the local temple and sacrifice two pigeons last time your period ended? - Lv 15, 29-30 [/B]
Are you sure you are not confusing Caligula with Tacitus? Anyway I am glad you did admit that parts of the Bible are historically accurate. This is a start.

Of course we can not put the Bible in one neat category as it is made of 66 books..it is 66. The Bible uses allegory and metophor and if someone is said to be lying within it's pages than they are not telling truth right?

As far as the Levitical laws I have no comment. I think you are smarter than that.

Let me help you out, again. People on this board value data, facts, and logic. You must use data, facts, and logic to make your case. If you witness without data, facts, and logic to back you up you look stupid. If you make assertions without data, facts, and logic, you convince no-one. If you mock data, facts, and logic, you mock the majority of people on this board. If you ask an imaginary deity to bless us with no data, facts, or logic, to bolster said deities existence, you insult our intelligence. When you ignore data, facts, and logic in favor of fantasy, you appear deluded. When you come to an atheist board armed with neither data, facts, or logic in hopes of furthering your xian point of view, you appear worse than deluded.

Pure delusion distillate.
How about using your facts, data and logic when making comments such as the one above.

Forgive me God for stooping to the level of King Rat the Atheist.

God just bless him with a clear thinking mind in regards to Your soverienty. He knows not what he says.

HD, you have admitted that you cannot prove any of your fantastic assertions, that would make your belief in them irrational, and IMO deluded. There is an entire branch of medicine dedicated to the treatment of people who see things that aren't really there. What kind of data, fact, and logic would you like me to present?

Or you can check out:

William James', "The Varieties of Religious Experience"

Or:

Michael A. Persinger's, "Neuropsychological bases of God beliefs"

Or you can google psychology+psychosis

Yeah fairly sure. From Moses Hadas' complete works of Tacitus :

"The Ocean produces pearls, though they are dingy-looking, a sort of slate grey. Maybe, as some suggest, those who harvest them are not very good at it: in the Indian Ocean they are pulled from the rocks while still very much alive, while in Britain they are collected as they are washed up by the sea."

Well if God thought it so important that we get to know him and attain salvation why isn't he a bit bloody clearer on the subject than 66 books writen by a nomadic tribe over 4000 odd years?

My reference to post-menstural pigeon roasting wasn't an attempt to be obsequeous or introduce some kind of 'ick' factor, so please don't gloss over it. If the bible is the word of God, His message to His creation, then we need to listen to all of it. If it isn't the word of God - we needn't pay attention to any of it.

King Rat,

You let your commrade answer my post and you have the nerve to moan about the logic and reason of others. Shame on you. I hope God is so good to you you can't stand it and you will have to admit your error. He loves you!

I'm not sure what my supposed predictability has to do with your religion? Please connect the dots for me.
