Default I was what was wrong with the world.

From ex atheist thread.

I have just gone doh!

Xianity is so geocentric and self centred it is ridiculous!

Where does this idea of our self importance in the scheme of things come from such that everything is our fault and we need the Creator of the universe to send his son to die for us?

No wonder the church moaned about Galileo!

He only started to undermine this self centredness - probably an adult version of our experience as helpless babies of being the centre of the world, multiplied by our daily experience that we do see everything through our own eyes.

So deconversion is probably quite easy - deliberately teach ways to see things from other perspectives. Maths is quite useful for that!

If you think "something is wrong" perhaps you are (your understanding is at least) what is wrong.

I think in some ways it is correct to be explicitly Freudian about this - religious folk have not been weaned.

But I have not noticed much discussion that xianity specifically - and probably Islam because it also has a concept of sin and submission are psychologically derived reactions to how our brains work, on a completely false assumption that we are the centre of the universe - counting hairs on head? You must be joking!
