It's the Masonic Lodge of atheism. Apparently. I think I signed up earlier, though I have had no email about it and I can't log in.

You are misinformed. Check Livius' comment above. I am a member over there and needed no recommendation.

It is a very good board but there is way too little traffic.

Nominations are not required, but memberships must be approved by the administrators.

Knowing someone (like me) "on the inside" there is not necessary, but it could speed up the admission process if we already know what sort of person is. That's just my opinion, though. I'm not an administrator there, but I've been there since the beginning.

Nominations are not required for the Heathens' Hangout.
Atheism is not a precondition for membership, only nontheism.
Please email me or PM me for questions -- I am an admin there.

*sigh*
Didn't we go through this question, Seebs, in excruciating detail over at the Freethought Forum ?

Email me or PM me over SecWeb with the username you gave for HH.

BTW, we are not the Masonic Lodge of atheism --- we're simply a private, quiet, small, support nontheist forum. We do not exist to have influence on any other forum, we don't even care about other forums.

I'm a member. Why are you curious, BSB?

There is little difference between the two. You might want to ask the webmaster at this site to correct the Sec Web entry: Community of Reason .

I admit, "nomination" was probably the wrong word to use to describe the process.

Wrong, and I hold that there is an important distinction.
Agnosticism does not equal atheism.
Pantheism does not equal theism, and/thus
nontheism does not equal nonpantheism.

You mean you're suggesting we should get ourselves linked in there ?
Thanks for the suggestion.

Fair enough. I'm still in horrified fascination at "I also know what someone had to do to get in" but hey, the requirements are as LadyShea and Shake noted:
Nontheism and approval from admins.
