Naked and dispelled from all humanity prior to the trial wherein Pilate could not distinguish between the son-of-Joseph and the son-of-man as seen from the Gentile perspective of Mark. The message here is that without this isolation of the bare naked young man, Mark would have the son of man crucified along with the son of Joseph.

The lion cloth represents 'original sin' as the final removal of human nature after the cloak of Judaism was removed at the precincts of the temple. It is 'when' they all deserted him 'that' they took the loin cloth. It just shows religion with a purpose as a means to the end.

So the fleeing is what defrocked Judaism and the young man who followed Jesus indicates that that was the purpose of Jesus' mission at that stage in the event. Remember here that Jesus was fully in charge of his destiny and was playing the game that led to his Ascension. I call it a game here to show that it was a metaphysical event.

In Matt. everything is Jewish and Pilate just goes along with the crowd but in both Luke and John Pilate looks at Jesus as 'man' and not as Jews and therefore can find no fault with him. To identify these critical parts is needed to make the gospels inerrant.

Let me add that 'on' the crucifix (as we know it) the lion cloth was 'not' removed to show that the faculty of reason was to be crucified so it can be raised. The faculty of reason is what caused the 'fall of man' which I have called "good and very good" with the negative side effect that we will have to die twice if we have two identities which makes us temporal until we become eternal again. To this James Joyce said "reason must prevail" even in heaven.

The senses were only pierced 'that' they may be raised with the son and placed subservient 'at' the right hand of the father in the upper room.
