I think the same can be said for left-wingers and Star Trek fans. When forum moderation is about maintaining an atmosphere where people can engage on their own terms, and not about protecting a particular point of view, real opportunities for connection exist.

I hope you'll find they're worth it. I love being able to wear the same glasses (and feeling like my eyes actually do their work) for driving, reading, computing, cooking...Having a midrange area is gold.

My brother in law's mother died two days ago. She was only 63 and died in her sleep of a heart attack. Will be taking the boys out to the funeral tommorow.

In positive news, though, you might remember I asked for prayers for a sister of a friend of ours. She was in a nasty car accident which killed the passenger behind her in the car. Her car was broadsided by a car driven by a teenager going over 90 mph on a road with a posted speed limit of 40. He hit a bump and his car went airborn.

Anyway, she is going to make it. They had to take part of her frontal lobe, give her 30+ pints of blood, the entire left side of her body is in pins, and her jaw is wired shut. She is responsize though and her newborn child is home.

The doctors said there is absolutely no way she should have lived. The passenger behind her was killed instantly.

The kid driving the car as over twice the posted limit walked away.

I somehow suspect, though, that this may be one of those things that makes it onto your permanent record.

Vehicular manslaughter. He will likely be serving time...

You all have a good night. We're gonna make it to our small group tonight. Hanging out with the remnant of St. James...
