If there are serious questions about who Paul was, who wrote these letters when, who amended what, and that Acts does read like religious fiction, what possible reasons might there be for choosing these towns?

I don't know, I am wondering if there are mythical or political reasons behind choosing these towns, or was it someone sticking a pin in a map?

Might there be other letters that have been lost?

I thought someone had proposed that the letters were written to answer theological questions, not to specific communities.

Might they be one document that has been chopped?

It makes no sense that anything in Acts was added to help validate changes in Pauline letters about what church they were addressed to.
You add alot to what I say, don't you. Be that as it may. Is it possible that Acts was written to "tame" Paul?
