This is a great big-budget TV series covering string theory. I bought the DVD and it was money well spent. PBS seems to have released the videos for it online.

On my gaming forums we were all discussing religion and science and I linked these videos. One christian religous guy said that he was watching and enjoying them.
I thought they were mostly boring but if they have the power to influence religious folk into actually thinking about science, I'm all for it. |

i thought they were awful . string theory may be right but that doesn't mean that there are intergalactic singles bars where you don't know what drink your going to get when you place an order . this narrative with it's accompanying metaphors , extrapolates out from subatomic phenomena to the absurd . and the religeous overtones are unmistakable . people and buildings do not behave like quatum phenomena .this is magical thinking at it's worst posturing as though it were science .
i'm new to this sight and i love reading some of the wonderful posts . thank you. |

Does this have anything to do with the Brian Greene book?

Yes, he was the on-screen narrator in the show.
