Reminds me of when Susan was dating A Sheep, and went around insulting the Catholics to impress him. She got over that real fast.

Yeah, some years back.

Susan was a militant conservative who was, when I first met her, afraid that some books contained demons, and who believed that "all non-Christians are posessed by demons, and most Christians are posessed by demons some of the time". She was not emotionally stable. Anyway, she was dating this guy, username "A Sheep". He hated Catholics, so she posted some nasty anti-Catholic stuff, and got a suspension for it.

She thought about it, and when she thought it through, she apologized, because she didn't want to hurt people. She eventually got to the point of being able to work as a mod; she was on around the time I was, and we worked N&CE together for a while.

She eventually left CF because she's bisexual, and she just got sick of staff (rnmomof7, AlabamaMan, most noticably) constantly asserting that there were no gay or bisexual Christians.

She's still out there, hanging out on livejournal and such. We keep in touch.

For her, I think, that was a turning point, because once she looked at the possibility that she'd hurt people to try to impress some guy, I think it changed her evaluation of him; what kind of guy is positively impressed that you hurt people?

I worry about Holly. The nutjobs at that forum can't be good for her, and they lack the foresight to think about the harm that can result by taking advantage of someone's mental illnesses to create a weapon.

By the time I got to know Susan she had pulled herself together and was a breath of fresh air. The period when you and she were handling N&CE was perhaps its high point (which I suppose is like defining the highest point in Florida, but I do mean it as a compliment).

It helped a lot that LightHearted helped us.

Blindfaith made a concerted effort to get us both kicked off staff, mostly by joining the N&CE team, picking fights constantly, and then complaining that we started it. This actually sort of worked, although her eventual departure from staff may have changed peoples' view of the situation.

BTW, my horrible corrupting influence on Susan was one of the reasons given for which I was a bad person and should be kicked off staff. I was quite flattered; I don't really feel I deserve the credit for her transformation from a cringing ball of torment into a pretty loving person. I was just sorta there when it happened.
