Agreed. As an atheist, I vote that a Mod move this to ~Elsewhere or the Humor section. (Hey, about granting me "Mod powers" so that I can do this myself?)

During our recent discussion Steamer you said you worshipped love, honesty, mercy and justice. Don't try and dress this up as something else - it is perverted and offensive. You KNOW there are Christians on this forum who are trying to engage in some real and honest debate and you KNOW how much Jesus means to us. You may feel you're being honest, but obviously at the expense of the other qualities you purportedly worship. This says more about your state of mind than anything else. Or, hang on, maybe you think all of us Christians are imaginary...

And why did the administrators not only allow this to go on but also join in? I thought this was a place for honest debate - not puerile comments which truly offend some people.

And as for the others who joined in, just reflect on this honestly. Freethinkers?! Please...

P.S. The dude who spoke up did becuse he or she has a concern for others Steamer...it's called being humane.

Many Christians participate on GRD and many more watch it. I find it inappropriate. Nothing serious, informative or constructive can come from such an OP.

Not fun

Seconded. This thread should be closed on the basis that it offers nothing good to anyone, except laughing at others who are more like us, than different. :frown:

Are you serious? Displacement of sexual desire towards Christ has been a popular psychological theory since at least the statue above was chipped.

What's insulting about it, specifically? It's pretty much what Bernini was saying and that is one of the greatest pieces of art of all time.

It will likely insult the reading Christians, and seems to be mocking them and their beliefs. Humour maybe or elsewhere for this, but this cannot surely be a serious thread for GRD?

The terminology for example...."bent over the back of the couch" etc

People are commonly bent during sexual activity.

Since when was someone perceiving something as insulting a deal breaker on this forum?

It may not be expressed very delicately, but there is a perfectly legitimate question posed.

Well, in the Bible I do remember reading something about him being well-hung...
