Not sure this belongs here. But a creationists posting a comment on Panda's Thumb claims that America means "kingdom of heaven". Part of the argumrnt is based on Hebrew, so maybe it belongs here. He's what he (Steve) said:

In Hebrew, MLWKH means kingship or royalty.

MMLKH means kingdom. (MLKWT is also used "later".)
