Well since we're talking about a being who is all powerful, I would expect he should give enough of a shit about the creation which he brings into the world under a default state of damnation to oh, I dunno, maybe make an appearance, or perhaps perform one of these supposed miracles for everyone to see.

You know, just enough to establish himself as like, you know, in existence and stuff. Maybe to even differentiate himself from the millions of other bullshit religions which you no doubt instantly dismiss as ridiculous.

Like make the face of the man in the moon, Jesus's face, or something equally impressive and useful. Maybe even write the fish symbol across the face on Mars.

I'm not going to play epistemological games with you. I've had enough of this form of evasion.

I'd still like to iknow how you can test to see which ancient magical claims are true and which are false...without using empirical method.

And if he could do that just fucking appear already.

But no. What we get is millenia old texts that tell us some guy ate an apple 6,000 years ago that god told him not to eat, so god cursed that guy and all of his offspring to pain, misery, death and every other conceivable horror. But then god gets all lovey dovey 2,000 years ago and instead of forcing people to slaughter animals and sprinkle blood all over the place to atone for their sins, he spiritually bones a virgin and gives birth to himself so he can spread some killer news in person. Then he has himself murdered so he can sprinkle his blood all over his followers just once, and save them all from a condition that they have nothing to do with in the first place.

People believe this shit. I look back and I wonder how the hell I was able to hold the mass of lies and contradictions in for so long.

Others have addressed this issue.

Can you address the issue in my other question? Why should I believe the supernatural claims in the Christian writings? Should I also believe the claims in the Book of Mormon?

I completely fucking sympathize. But hey, don't feel bad. I even went to seminary. It took me a long, long time to clue into to the problems.

emphasis mine

Wasn't it Christ's public ministry that got Him crucified? And I think the default state was perfection. We took care of the damnation part.

Why do you think you're even discussing this stuff, if you really believe all of it is bullshit?

How does any of this address the question? The question was "why doesn't God show himself?" not "what are Patriot7's religious beliefs?"

Why do you have to believe a myth is true to be interested in it?
