We're drifting off topic here, folks.
Waiting for EdwardSmith to get back on topic... if he returns at any time...
I predict I'll be the next he suggests to be banned because I disagreed with him (i.e. refuted one of his articles) in another thread

I second this motion to permanently ban CX for this vile deception.
CX is out of control.

Frankly, it was too preposterous to take seriously, and reflects more on EdwardSmith than his targets of abuse.

I will do some clean up on this thread later, and split off the spin-Celsus side discussion.

You are more gentle that I am, I wouldn't do the work of splitting things out, I would just close the thread for being started by someone who isn't participating any longer and having gone completely off topic as a result.

The side discussion on Dan has been split to a new thread here.

Google tells me that EdwardSmith has posted this link on several other message boards. It's not clear if he will be back to discuss this. The future home of this thread will depend on the direction any future discussion takes, if any.

So (to return to the original subject of Eden locations)...

Can anyone point me to a detailed refutation of David Rohl's Eden Location and New Chronology theories?

The consensus here seems to be that his theories are bunk, but I am not adept enough to be able to see flaws in them myself...

First of all, I find it somewhat disturbing that a very new poster comes in and starts demanding that many older and well-liked posters be banned for honest, and in my opinion, moderate criticisms. It is indeed sound to criticise people for not citing their sources in a supposedly scholarly essay.

This is how scholastics work; we stand on the shoulders of those who come before us. There are such things as ground breaking papers that have no definite precedent, though they generally are based on physical evidence or very strong logic. With the explosion of articles and assertions we have witnessed in this so called "information age" we have to use some filtering method to ensure we don't spend all our time on the many baseless papers floating about the internet, which include all kinds of (ahem) eccentric conjectures. If your arguments have a basis, please show them to us, we would appreciate it.

On the meat of your o-post, I must agree that there is a general apathy among most atheists as to the specific claims of a largely discredited religion. Since you are an atheist yourself, I would be curious to hear why you are interested in such a thing. Do you think it has cultural value, or is it general curiosity and love of mystery? or what?

And because you are so new here, perhaps you don't know our ettiquette for reporting posts and posters that we consider to be unfair. I suggest you read the forum rules sticky. To be brief, you should not say things like "I think so-and-so should be banned" in the open forum. That is taboo, verboten, and in poor taste. The proper thing to do is hit the little thing that looks like a traffic warning sign in the lower left of the offending post, which will alert the moderators to it. Please use that in the future.

Only Americans still argue over what everyone else has known for donkey's years. It has long been scientifically established that Eden is in Cornwall. The times are 8:00 till 6:00 pm daily including weekends and bank holidays. Take my word for it if you don't believe me. There is even a bloke called Adam working there (no relation), and no, you are not allowed to eat their apples or they will put you back on the coach all by yourself and inform your mam on your own mobile even though I told them it was only for emergencies. There is even an Adams brewery in Exeter that sells ale, and not that water stuff the French try to fob you off with.
