Huh? Any evidence for this? This is the first time I've ever heard of a lamb on a crucifix. |

If you want to know my alternate explanation, you have to start by reading Loisy (see his two books online at Kirby's website). This was what gave me the real impetus to explore these things for myself. He said that all 4 gospels were works in progress for a very long time (up to 200 CE, at least). This is not the view of today's 'mainstream scholarship'... but this is the only rational view. And then, I went on further into the patristic accounts, and into textual criticism. And then, there was the Hebrew Gospel of Matthew... And then there was the Magdalene Gospel... See my webpage for details. It's very large. Cheers, Yuri |

Another difficulty I can raise, although I am a Beotian on this subject, is that a public text like a gospel can very easily be modified with additions or suppressions to the guise of a leading group, especially when the fidels are illiterate. So perhaps, "the date" of a gospel stretches from a beginning to an end ? Which simplifies everything !
