In a thread last year Celsus mentioned a claim by Garbini about a seal implying that an Ammonite King Hananel was ruler of Jerusalem sometime in the 7th century BCE.

Because Garbini's work was so recent, it was difficult to evaluate. However there is a discussion of this at Biblical Theology (with various links)

The seal apparently reads . Apart from possible doubts about authenticity given the unprovenanced nature of the seal; it seems doubtful IMO whether the seal, taken at face value, really establishes Garbini's claims.

The essay is 'Biblical Philology and North-West Semitic Epigraphy: How Do They Contribute to Israelite History Writing' by Garbini in 'Recenti Tendenze Nella Ricostruzione Della Storia Antica D'Israele.' (The volume, published by the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, contains the essays from the 2003 Convegno Internazionale held in Rome.)
