Funny how Islam is always monolithic when it works to its advantage, such as Islam being an "unstoppable juggernaut," but it becomes pluralistic as soon as it is criticized. "Oh no, don't blame MY brand of Islam...we're not the ones responsible for the Taliban."

I'm sure there are discussions-a-plenty covering my question, but I must ask: If the Qur'an is the true word of Allah, why can't Muslims agree on it?

I am going to refrain from further posts on Islamic-related threads for a while. I think I have made my point as sufficiently as possible, and it's going nowhere. It's impossible for me to see Islam as an authoritative religion, since I don't believe that there was or is a supernatural being to write the Qur'an. It's becoming too time-consuming and it's difficult to keep from drifting into ad hominem remarks. I don't want to give anyone the idea I am bigoted or a hateful person.

Peace,

JohNeo

Any Muslim who doesn't think Jews are pure evil and that Israel should be wiped off the face of the Earth is apparently a Zionist in your book.

Besides, I never said she should be used as the "definitive guide to Islam." Even if Islam became a lot more liberal and tolerant and enlightened than it is now, she would still be considered extreme by most, no doubt. But sometimes it takes somebody outside the mainstream to get a more objective view.

LOL.

Islam is perhaps the closest religion on the planet to Judaism. Islam also states that Jesus Christ (pbuh) will assume the caliphate from Jerusalem, making it the pivotal focus of the Messianic Era. It appears to me that Islam supports the concept of a "Spiritual Israel"...the amalgation of all 12 Tribes of Judea, not specifically Benyamin and Judah.

I think many of your fears are due to unhindered irrational thoughts. I am in no way against Jews. They are my friends, and honorary members of the People of the Book .

Actually, you seem to be pretty good at them, which is why I gave you the link. Your posts are much more credible when you use evidence rather than fallacies.

Honestly ,I have went through the list of logical fallacies before...but I never bothered to memorize and or internalize them....perhaps I should? Maybe you are right as I usually do recognize (intentional) logical fallacies in my posts and logical fallacies in other posts...but I am usually at a lack of words to actually define what the fallacy in question....is.. So , I see what you mean...there is a possibility that it might strengthen the quality of my posts, perhaps giving my posts a more impartial flair.

 You got it! BTW, it isn't necessary to memorize the names, only to recognize the fallacy itself. Do that, and I think you will get more personally satisfying responses to your posts.
