I was just wondering if anyone has ever thought of writing a story that parallels the Bible.
Are you suggesting that science and philosophy are not doing that even now as we speak? That would be dishonest wouldn’t it?

There, story written. Two sentences.

There is a long list of theistic, even Christian scientists and philosophers.

Point? And there is, and will continue to be, hence already exists a long list of non-Christian scientists and philosophers. Atheists will be included in that list. Someday we will all have a better story. I am a believer.

Someday. A believer, or a wishful thinker, in the mould of Micawber?

Micawber? Who's that? Not interested.

I'm just being modest. I woudn't want to give the impression that I am vain, egotistical or anything like that. I have an image to uphold in case you haven't noticed.

I developed it specifically to irrate you.

You'll be pleased to know that I'm very irrated.

I'm less enthusiastic about the basic reason that you give for making this book. As others have pointed out many see that it's mostly myth already and among those that don't I doubt many would be convinced by a very long "argument from analogy". In and of itself the idea is interesting though.
My original idea was to mirror the bible as closely as possible. This of course will make it quite difficult, so I figure the story could stray from the exact format of the bible occasionally. I just thought it might be incredibly interesting to see if a large group of nonbelievers could pull together and write separate accounts of a fictional world view that would be mostly unfalsifiable, and that just happened to parallel the bible. Think about how interesting it would be to see a book, written by people collaborating all over the world, that contains historical facts, real people, and attempts to lay out a world view.
