Sounds like some bullshit spin to me. It may be that this is the one time in situations like this where the two events were just coincidental and totally unrelated to each other, but I'm going to bet that this is exactly what it looks like and they canned her for getting arrested, but if she agreed to leave quietly and go along with their silly little story, they'd say it had all been planned in advance and she wouldn't try suing them for breach of contract in exchange for them not putting a black mark on her employment record.

I see exactly what you're saying, but to be honest it seems to me that *either* scenario is equally plausible (your "spin" scenario and something approximating what the subjects of the linked interview are talking about. :huh:

Either way I'm glad she's dead, one more minute of that smirk was right gonna kill me :devil1:

Good point. The important thing is that she's not on the show anymore. The why behind that is secondary at best. But I'd just like to point out that before she was kicked off/left of her own free will, they made her have sex with that asshat Sawyer and then had her die in the most irrelevant way possible. That makes me think the powers that be were mad at her.

I think TPTB are full of it with regards to AnaL. But whatever the reason she is gone, her hispanic security guard replacement is rumored to be coming soon to the show.

I dunno, I buy the Rodriguez explanation. Her character's story's pretty wrapped up, besides her boyfriend and the phone call she got at the airport- neither of which are all that interesting. Now, Cynthia Watros, that's a bit sketchier. However, I'm willing to buy their story: they created a bland character, couldn't figure out what to do with her, so killed her off.

I don't think their deaths were irrelevant, though. I think it was the best shock the series has delivered, and really made Michael's turn horrific. And I think the lasting effects on Hurley & Sawyer, and others, will be felt for a while. Planned or not, it was handled well.

It took Eko until the end of the series to really get involved (he's a solitary, weird character though); Ana Lucia didn't do much in the middle eps either. Bernard was the only Tailie that really melded into the cast well, IMHO. I hope they do things better with the new characters this season. I really don't see how Henry Gale will fit in... that will be fun to watch, however it works out.

Awesome! I seriously can't wait. It's the only show I watch on TV, aside from Smallville.

I thought it was supposed to start back up at the beginning of September - any idea why it was delayed? Or am I thinking wrong?

I wish they didn't kill libby off, that would have been interesting for Desmond and her to meet again.

Oct 4th is the start of the new season!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(as far as I know its always been starting in October.)
