Bats eat spiders for breakfast.
It's not really a matter of who would win, Batman would kill Spidey and then fuck Mary Jane. This is no game, Batman is batshit crazy. |

Jesus Tap-Dancin' Christ is right people.
If you want to look at this battle from the perspective that the comics are all canon that it is undeniable that Batman would destroy spiderman UNLESS the match was in a cage and Batman had no weapons. In Batman's history he has shown himself over and over again to be a better thinker and fighter than pretty much any other comic character. You could ONLY pick spiderman if you are looking at this from the persepective of who you like better or what you think spiderman and batman's powers SHOULD be, as opposed to what they HAVE been in the comics. |

In a straight up comparison of their powers, Spidey wins without question. However, that ignores their respective themes.
Batman's theme: A normal that can overcome any adversity. Spidey's theme: Incredibly powerful, but even when he wins, he loses. Spiderman's story line is more interesting (to me) and the character is much more approachable and human. Here's how it might go down, in keeping with each characters MO: Spidey is investigating some wrongdoing at one of the Wayne companies when he is mistakenly identified as the wrongdoer. Batman intervenes. Batman and Spiderman meet and fight to a more or less standstill. Bats dominates the fight, getting in a number of good shots (can overcome any enemy), but Spidey is tough enough to take his best and is never more than dazed. Spidey, of course, has the best lines. He doesn't want to fight back because, after all, he's not a bad guy. Ultimately, he gets away from Batman but the delay caused by the fight causes him to lose his quarry (even when he wins, he loses). Batman later learns that Spidey is a good guy but doesn't do fuck-all about it, crotchety old guy that he is. |

If we look at what Batman actually has at his disposal (his batmobiles, weapons, utility belt, amazing mind and years of martial arts training) I think it is quite a bit better than Spiderman's powers. All Batman really has to do is shoot a fucking missle at Spiderman and he is exterminated. |

He's a pretty ferocious fighter, has superhuman strength, and is also willing to cheat to win. Add that fish-talking ability -- how would YOU like it if your enemy could command blue whales to leap from the oceans and land on top of you? -- and you've got someone pretty tough. Rob aka Mediancat |

Dont' try to defend Aquaman. Aquaman is fish-talking proof that D.C. superheros suck ass, except Batman.

Now that Christian Bale is Batman, I am so all over that. Or rather, I wish I were.
