Weren't Christians embarrassed by portraying their Saviour as a criminal?

Why don't Christians of today get embarrassed by the acts of their Saviour?

Perhaps one person's terrorist is another's freedom fighter.

The demonstration in the Temple may well have been the trigger for Jesus' arrest. However, the Gospel accounts do not indicate that Jesus was convicted on any charge related to the Temple. The incidemt does not seem to have been sufficient to provide a legal basis for sentencing Jesus to death.

The titulus on Jesus' cross read Jesus Of Nazareth, King of the Jews. This might suggest that he was executed because he held himself out to be King Of The Jews, an act of sedition against Roman authority and certainly something that would get him crucified.

When though did Jesus claim to be Ling Of The Jews? Perhaps this is where Judas becomes important. Perhaps he informed the Roman authorities about what Jesus was saying in private. Just speculation about Judas but the titulus indicates the crime of sedition.

Is that sedition or lunacy? I know somebody in Britain who calls himself King Arthur.

I wonder why the Romans were not bothered by a movement founded by a self-proclaimed 'King of the Jews' that later was led by his brother.

Perhaps the Romans just didn't take seriously James claim to be the brother of the King of the Jews.

So did Jesus commit an act of criminality, in the way that trashing the bookstall in Exeter Cathedral is also a criminal act?

Blasphemy? Why didn't the Sanhedrin have Jesus stoned (presumably with Pilates permission)?

What!!! Are you serious? It was the Child of a Ghost, the Word that was God and the Creator that was crucified in the NT.

Please. You cannot INVENT your own story.

There is NO need to IMAGINE what the author wrote.

Pilate in the NT found NO fault with Jesus.

In the NT, Jesus was NOT found to be a criminal when he was tried under Pilate.

And on the spot, not days later.

Perhaps the temple guards were off on the ancient equivalent of a donut break?

The Catholic Church claims to have bits and pieces of the "true cross" along with other "relics" like the Shroud of Turin. I wonder if they have the part of the cross with the inscription since the gospels differ as to what the inscription was. Of course, it's all fiction in any case, but still, get the rap right boys.
