Also, you really need to understand that we don't believe your mythology. It has nothing to do with rebellion and everything to do with critical thinking. Quite simple, really.

Your existence can be proven. Can you(or anyone else) prove your god's existence? If yes, please show us. If not, why should we believe it is any different from a belief in Santa Claus, or, for that matter, Hank?

I'm sure this has already been explained to you in your time on these boards, but many people here have studied the holey buy-bull critically and in depth, and found it severely lacking in credibility.

Why must manners be based on sexual inequality? I generally hold the door for whoever's walking behind me be they man or woman because I think it's just damn rude not to.

I think what King Rat found offensive was your arrogence in refering to women as "the weaker sex" without first checking if that was OK with the 3 Billion or so other women on this planet.

hope's daughter: You have the right to believe whatever you want, I think we can't disprove god's existence either.... BUT the christian god is a very flawed design however.so I think dissecting and understanding your god can give you positive insights, and allow you to "recreate" your own personal god into a more complete, undefeatable version.

Just remember that the bible is full of lies and myths... so i think there is a need for hardcore christians to understand and reshape their own god.

I give words of encouragemet and compliments all the time. They are more along the lines of:

"All your hard work paid off."
"You are a freakin' machine."

I hate diminishing anyones efforts by ascribing said efforts to an imaginary deity. To do so, gives credit where it is not due.

I only know people's minds if they make themselves known by their words. A person' words carry a lot of weight as to who that person is and what is on their mind. I prefer those who speak their minds to those who hide behind empty words and are afraid to venture into areas that might leave one uncomfortable. It is call risked taking. I have found certain Atheists and Christians alike more honest than others in this regard. I know alot of silliness goes on on theses boards, (can't take things too seriously or life will loose it's joy), but there is a place to tackle serious subjects in a respectful way to both parties.

It is not a myth. Christ lived and He died. It is up to you as whether you are brave enough to look at His claims. Re-examine them again if you have already. Carefully evaluate the Scriptures. Pray...do you pray while you critically test and formulate your opinion or have you spent too many years in institutions which promote a politically correct view of the world? Are you the type that just dimisses things because it does not line up with what your version of reality is? If this is the case you have not examined the gospel critically. If you did I think you would be amazed about what you find.

I have been acquanted with this link. I think you would have a hard time proving I (the person) exist. I could be a bunch of monkey's typing. Christ though is mentioned in Non-Christian writings.

What I normally find is that, even though there are a few who have acquired a high degree of knowledge of Scripture, most atheist's that I run into dismiss Scripture without examining the truth or its veracity.

I am sorry eirion that my point evaded you but then that is my point. I do not want to be treated like a man. I want someone to be respectful towards me because I am a woman. Call me old fashion but I believe in opening a door for a woman because she is a woman. These days some woman will look at you (If you are a man) like you have just commited murder if you open the door for them. I also believe in the work place men should be respectful and watch their language around women.

Well if King Rat is a women I will not apologize and if this person is a male no apology either. Women are the weaker sex literally. Heck what are women looking for in a male, amonst other things, but security and protection.

Relight I am not going to get into a discussion of your failings. Why? You probably have many. You are human. But by nature and definition God is perfect. He defines what you are not. Sorry. I know it is a little disappointing but then again that is why God would want you to turn to Him so He could help you with those imperfections.

Please the church is trying it your way to (I think) the detrement of the church...contemporary service along with a watered down gospel. It is so ineffectual and doctrinal truths are falling by the way side. But let me ask...who has been lying to you? Myth? Is King Solomon's temple a myth? Jerusalemn? Garden of Gethsemene? Nazereth? You can got to these places today.
