Shannon: Chi admits he was wrong, he doesn't feel he slandered anyone because the intent wasn't there. That's a common reading of the word slander. In a legal sense slander is spoken only, anything here would be libel. But the point is he has admitted he was wrong in his assumptions. The mods here have addressed the flaming, we can all move on.
I am calm.

*Nope, I don't see a moderator sign under his name...*

Nope, I have no authority here at all. Just trying to further peaceable discourse. Of course if no-one wants that then I can't do anything at all about it.

Yep, it sure did. Now shannonkish PMd me to say I am on ignore. Woohoo.

By the way - who thinks Ignore lists are a pathetic idea on a message board? Kind of like 4 year olds sticking their fingers in their ears and going la la la la la la.

OK Chi_Cygni, I know you're upset, but you're not solving anything by lashing out on other people in here. Remember, most of us who are posting in these threads have in some way been abused or mistreated by Christian Forums. THAT is what we are up against, not each other. We need to put our differences aside and get on the same page, if we are to get anything done. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to PM or IM me. I don't just have those little AIM and MSN icons up there for show; I put them up there because I am more than willing to talk to anyone who so desires. And that's a standing offer for anyone reading this post.

Erwin reads this forum? Wow, that would be news to me...I knew that he has on occasion been alerted to posts contained here, but I never knew that he may have actually been reading it himself.

I could tell you the exact text as given to staff, though I'd be violating confidentiality if I did. :banghead:

So, a mod breaking confidentiality on another site, can be reprimanded on CF.
Yup.

When you start thinking in terms of what it does--silence someone that keeps flaming you, distorting your words, throwing everything you say back in your face, making ridiculously illogical posts, etc.--suddenly the ignore feature looks a lot more appealing. It is a subtle but powerful tool that message boards have, and an underrated one at that. It allows members to take control of a situation, to silence the thunder of someone who is absolutely driving them nuts. Is someone on the forums a person that you really do not like? Don't fight fire with fire, for god's sakes...just ignore 'em!

Honestly, I encourage people, particularly those of you having issues on CF, to make substantial use of the ignore feature.

I disagree.

I still post on CF but under a new name obviously and actually haven't run into problems lately or ever needed the ignore.

Fire with fire is so much fun though, lol

Yeah but fighting fire with fire is exactly the sort of thing that's gonna get you into trouble. And you won't have much recourse when you come back in here and bitch about receiving a perfectly legitimate warning.

Anyway, I'm folding out of this mini-discussion. It is going nowhere.

Default what I want to know is...

.......why doesn't anyone ever accuse me of being gay? Or even of being a hussie? I'd settle for that much.

I apologise for picking up the shitstorm where it left off. I shouldn't have done that, and I'm sorry.

By the way, that Miss Shelby! What a hussie! And I bet she's gay.
