"88" is a code word used by these neo-nazi white supremecist (morons) to identify themselves to each other. Allegedly it comes from the first letters of "Heil Hitler" or "HH" with H being the 8th letter of the alphabet.

There will always be people like this around. Being from the south, I used to take an interest in keeping an eye on these groups (esp. when David Duke was at the height of popularity here in louisiana).

From a theological standpoint they are very unusual, Christian Identity for example, has almost nothing in common with mainstream xianity. World "Church" of the Creator likewise is completely non-xian, a synthetic modern "religion" based on race and megalomania.

It appears to me that these groups attract only the pathologically violent (witness Randy Weaver and the Ruby Ridge incident) and are inherently unstable (see the history of Matthew Hale and the continuous power struggles in the white supremecist organizations).

Thankfully these insane domestic terrorists are kept under a watchful eye, but please be aware of their existance and code language, they are terribly dangerous.
