My dangerous ideas:
1) GMark is a gnostic, separationist document. 2) 1 Cor. 10-15 are almost entirely not by Paul. 3) The eucharist evolved. Julian |

Five ideas of which I am not certain, but which are quite attractive to me:
1. The book of Revelation predates 70, and Babylon represents Jerusalem, not Rome. 2. The epistle of Clement (1 Clement) barely predates (or even coincides with) 70 and reflects both the persecution under Nero and the turbulence of 69 in Rome. 3. The two volumes of Luke postdate and depend on Josephus... and were written by a part-time companion of Paul named Luke. 4. The gospel of Thomas predates that of John, and the author of John (not the apostle) was aware of it. 5. The early church held an almost entirely adoptionist christology. Ben. |
