<sigh> Mind you, that probably is what israel will have to do. How can you root out the "terrorists" from the "innocent bystanders" over there? They pretty all much hate isreal and the west.

This just shouldn't happen because of the "dreams" of fundies who want to speed up the "rapture"!


The ME has enough religious wackos for the entire planet. We don't need that kind of thinking here.


BTW: why is it always ONLY Isreal that they're concerned about? Aren't there other countries whose populace is suffering just as bad, though for different reasons?

Ironic, considering that the xians are constantly trying to assimilate the Jewish people and end their religion.

That's why they constantly fuss about Isreal, yet they attack it's very religious foundation. The Jewish people are nothing more than pawns really, to help usher in Christ.

Look on the RR board, and note that whenever they talk about Isreal, talk of the "Rapture"TM is never far behind.

Happily, the members of the Jewish faith know the ulterior motives of their "friends"! See the above link.


If the only reason that they "cared" about the people over there was because innocent people were being killed, you'd notice that they'd be bringing up cases like that all over the world just as frequently. Instead, it's mostly about Isreal. They even have a forum dedicated to the "middle east" conflict!

Forgot to mention, that guys like RR and John Hagee don't usually say stuff like: "oh boy, the jews are returning to their homeland" without at least a few refernces to "fulfilled prophecy".

On Hagee's show, he once talked about how his group was helping to relocate (russian- I think) Jews to Isreal. He mentioned that it was in accordance with "prophecy".

They're using them, pure and simple.

No they aren't using them. And as a Jew, I resent such remark. I believe, along with Christians and other Jews, that Jesus is the Messiah that Israel has been waiting for. Jews aren't being used, we want them back in our homeland to wait for the return of our promised king. Israel is the holy land, and the place where all believers will spend the rest of eternity in paradise - in the kingdom known as New Jerusalem.

While ethnically (or nationally ?) you may be a Jew, you are, by Judaism's OWN standards, NOT a Jew "Spiritually"! So your resentment doesn't fly with me.

Some of the most famous xians have admitted that Christianity and Judaims are not the same religion. (See first paragraph or two).

Or this story. If Christianity really IS the "fulfillment/continuation" (or whatever) of Judaism, then why don't ALL xian services have the Jewish rituals described in that story? Why don't all xian churches have those ceremonies among themselves? Why is it only those groups trying to convert Jews that have those Judaistic-appearing cermonies?

Did you know that second and third generation "messianic jews" don't follow hardly any (if any at all) Jewish rituals at all? How many to you follow, as described in the above link?

If that's all that it is; then why is it that the religious right always makes such a big deal about it? Why do Hagee and Robertson et al talk so eagerly about "prophecy being fulfilled" when more go home? Why do they ALL have to be in the "homeland"? Simple. Xian prophecy says that the "messiah" can't come until it happens!

Unfortunately, no one has been able to address the problem of how the people in the Middle East can defend themselves against terrorism and learn to get along. Atheism would maybe help; Lord knows, you don't see any fighting around Darwin's house, or his grave now, do you? Atheists know that this life is all there is. If you throw it away by "suicide" bombing people, you are NOT going to have any virgins waiting for you in the afterlife! There won't even be an afterlife.

Secularism would be a great contribution to the answer for the ME problems.

rw: On a more realistic note: If Israel's leadership was as genuinely interested in stemming the flow of blood, as grabbing more land, they'd allow the Palestinians a voice in government and stop treating them as thrid class citizens of an occupied territory. They could also monetarily remunirate them for lands taken or return such property to its rightful owners if they do not wish to sell. Just because a prediction was made about the posession of the land does not mean it has to be re-taken by force.
